Man Accused Of ID Theft, Attempted Grand Larceny In New Rochelle
Police said he had a fake driver's license and tried to withdraw money from someone's account.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — A Bronx man was arraigned Tuesday for identity theft. Westchester County District Attorney Anthony A. Scarpino Jr. said Anthony Pistone, 35, of the Bronx, was accused of attempting to steal from another person's bank account using the victim's identity.
Pistone was indicted by a Westchester grand jury on the following charges:
- First-degree identity theft, a felony
- Third-degree attempted grand larceny, a felony
- Two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, felonies
- Second-degree criminal impersonation, a misdemeanor
Authorities said, around 12:30 p.m. Jan. 22, Pistone went into the Webster Bank on River Street in New Rochelle with a forged Connecticut state driver's license bearing his photo but with a victim's name, date of birth and address and a forged withdrawal slip containing the victim's signature and business checking account number.

With these documents, Pistone tried to withdraw $6,000 from the victim's business checking account, police said.
He wasn't successful and was arrested by the New Rochelle police.

Pistone is next scheduled to appear in court April 2.
