Mother's Day Plant Sale, Fair Scheduled For Amy's Greenhouse

Amy's Greenhouse is a living memorial to a woman who died in the World Trade Center attacks.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Barnard School families, staff and faculty, past and present, celebrated Earth Day recently with the school's first Spring Clean Up at Amy's Greenhouse. The participants worked together to get the area around Amy's Greenhouse ready for the annual Mother's Day Plant Sale and Fair, which will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 13.

Amy's Greenhouse, which is located on the school grounds, is a living memorial to Amy O'Doherty, the daughter of former Barnard teacher Geraldine Davies.

O’Doherty was killed during the Sept. 11 attack at the World Trade Center.

Through Amy's Greenhouse, the school community is dedicated to honoring Davies’ wish to keep her daughter's memory alive by teaching children to respect living things and make the world a better place.
