Mount Vernon Firefighter Impersonated Cop: New Rochelle Police

He was chased away by the victim's mom, according to news reports.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — A Mount Vernon firefighter has been charged for allegedly impersonating a police officer while off duty.

New Rochelle police said they got a call about it at half-past midnight Sunday and responded to 48 Clinton Ave. to investigate.

Mount Vernon Fireman Michael Figueroa, 26, was arrested. He appeared in court Monday and was arraigned, police said. Figueroa is charged with criminal impersonation in the first degree.

Police told Westchester News 12 that Figueroa allegedly threatened to take the victim away in handcuffs, which he was carrying. He fled when the victim's mother said she was going to call the cops to confirm he was an officer.
