National Weather Service: 'Localized Minor Coastal Flooding'

The statement from NWS is in effect from Tuesday afternoon to 10 a.m. Wednesday morning in and around New Rochelle and low-lying areas.

The National Weather Service has issued a statement that low-lying areas in Westchester County could experience “localized minor coastal flooding” Tuesday afternoon to 10 a.m. Wednesday.

Tides could rise 1-to-1-and-a-half feet above astronomical levels, which could cause some flooding to “vulnerable shore roads and adjacent properties.” No threat to life is expected.

In addition to Westchester County, Bronx, Nassau, Queens and Suffolk counties also could be affected.
