New Rochelle Fire Chief To Retire

His career spanned decades and he worked his way up through the ranks.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — After 45 years, New Rochelle Fire Chief Louis DiMeglio is going to retire. DiMeglio said his retirement which begins June 29 is bittersweet, but will work with Deputy Chief Andy Sandor who will become interim chief.

New Rochelle will begin a nationwide search for a new chief within a month, the Journal News said.

DiMeglio joined the department in 1973 and worked his way up to chief in 2011.
