New Rochelle Fire Department Promotion, Awards Ceremony

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The New Rochelle Fire Department hosted its annual Promotion and Awards Ceremony Wednesday at the Council Chambers in City Hall. Fire Chief Andrew Sandor and Deputy Chief Donald Bradley were joined by Mayor Noam Bramson, City Manager Chuck Strome, staff and families as they honored a number of firefighters with Life Saving, Unit Citation and Departmental Awards, as well as a distinguished Class III Citation.

“During Fire Prevention Month, we recognize the essential work our department performs all year long. Today, we honor those members whose distinguished service has impacted our community and beyond,” said Fire Chief Andrew Sandor.

During the ceremony, Robert D. Jackson was promoted to fire lieutenant. The department also welcomed five new firefighters: Daniel M. Costa, Nicholas M. Grasso, Christian M. Thanasoulis, Mitchell M. Deraffele and Michael J. Campanelli.

In May, department members were also recognized by Westchester County Regional EMS Council with Life Saving Awards and EMS Citations.
