New Rochelle Man Accused Of Drug, Weapons Possession

Police said they found cocaine while executing a warrant.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — A New Rochelle man was arraigned Friday on drug and weapons charges. Westchester County District Attorney Anthony A. Scarpino Jr. said James Bachman, 69, was arrested by the New Rochelle police and charged with the following:

  • Two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony
  • Six counts second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a felony

Police arrested Bachman Friday after an investigation into sales of narcotics in the area.

A warrant was executed at a New Rochelle location, and police said they found cocaine and the materials to produce it.

Also, they seized five firearms including three revolvers and two semi-automatic pistols, authorities said. Ammunition for all of weapons was also recovered.

Bachman appeared in court Monday for a conference and is next scheduled to appear Feb. 5.

He was remanded to the Westchester County Jail.
