New Rochelle Police Investigating 2 Incidents Of Shots Fired
Police said one man didn't realize he had been shot until he was inside his home.
NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Police in New Rochelle are investigating two incidents of shots being fire that occurred within an hour of each other. One of the incidents resulted in a man being shot.
New Rochelle police said officers responded around 11:50 p.m. Saturday to 361 Main St. for a report of shots fired.
When they got there, the officers found three spent 9mm shell casings and a bullet impact on the maintenance doors to the building.

About an hour later, around 12:45 a.m. Sunday, New Rochelle police went to a private residence on a report of shots fired.
Police found an adult man with a superficial bullet wound to his leg.

The man said that, while he was sitting outside, he was approached by there men who he didn't know.
One of the men struck the victim in the head with a handgun, at which time he fled toward the house as he heard one or two gunshots.
After he got inside the residence, he realized he'd been shot.
He was taken to an area hospital for treatment.
Detectives are conducting a followup investigation.
Police said that, at this time it is unknown if the two incidents are related.
Both investigations remain open and active.
