New Rochelle Woman Arrested For Aggravated DWI In Ulster County

The driver had a BAC more than 2 times the legal limit when she was pulled over in the early morning hours, according to NY State Police.

PLATTEKILL, NY — A New Rochelle woman behind the wheel at twice the legal limit was taken off the road in the early morning hours of Sunday on the New York State Thruway, according to the New York State Police.

On Sunday, around 3 a.m., state troopers stopped a vehicle on I-87 in the town of Plattekill. The troopers soon discovered that the driver, Laura F. Gomez Rudas of New Rochelle, was intoxicated.

The 22-year-old was taken into custody and processed at SP Newburgh, where her blood alcohol content was found to be 0.21 percent, New York State Police officials said.

Rudas was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated. She was released to a sober third party with an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Plattekill Court on October 17.
