Operation PROM Seeks Students for Board Position
Operation PROM, with an office in New Rochelle, is seeking students for new student board

The Westchester based, national non-profit, Operation PROM, is seeking students to serve a two year term on their Student Board. The Student Board will work along side Operation PROM’s Executive Board, and assist in many of the county-wide events, as well as promoting the services of Operation PROM. The Student Board will be comprised of 8 students from Westchester County and each will be assigned a mentor from the Executive Board to learn the operations of running a national non-profit, as well as working on many community based activities. The students who successfully complete the two year term will be eligible for a scholarship through Operation PROM.
To apply for a position on the Student Board, an essay discussing why you would like to be part of Operation PROM, a current report card/transcript and a letter of recommendation from a teacher/administrator should be emailed to: board@HelpPROM.org by September 15, 2015. To be eligible, students must be a rising Sophomore (Senior graduation date of 2017), attending a public high school in Westchester County, and hold a minimum 2.5 GPA (80%) average. Open to both male and female students. The two year term requires that students fulfill 50 hours each year, from November-May, which will include attending board meetings and events. Operation PROM’s office is located in New Rochelle and the annual events are held in White a Plains at the Westchester County Center.

Operation PROM is a national 501 c 3 not for profit organization that provides free Prom dresses and tuxedos to underprivileged teens. Eligible students are those who are in financial need, homeless, sick, or disabled. School supplies and scholarships are available in addition to regular donations of Prom dresses and tuxedos. Over the past 10 years, Operation PROM has helped thousands of students across the U.S. attend their Prom at little or no cost.
