Daniel Bateman Talks Music and Life in New Rochelle (westchestermagazine.com) — A New Rochelle-raised musician, Daniel Bateman, is drawing heavily on his hometown and his parents' New Rochelle house to shape his band Frog's latest album. He talks about raising his own kids in the city, recording at home with his brother, and proudly "repping" New Rochelle and Westchester, right down to favorite local restaurants and community ties.
   

2. Sanitary sewers: A pipeline to economic development (bizjournals.com) — New Rochelle's major sewer upgrades are quietly laying the groundwork for more housing, businesses, and tax revenue downtown. By doubling sanitary sewer capacity in the 279‑acre Downtown Overlay Zone, the city can now support millions of square feet of new development while reducing overflows and improving reliability, potentially generating tens of millions annually in property and sales taxes.
   

3. Scarsdale moves up, Lakeland and Byram Hills make boys soccer rankings (bluewaterhealthyliving.com) — New Rochelle's boys soccer team is off to a perfect 3-0 start and holds the No. 2 spot in the latest Section 1 power rankings. The Huguenots opened with a big win over John Jay-East Fishkill and followed with dominant victories against Ossining and North Rockland, putting local fans on notice for a promising season.
   

4. 25 Greek Festivals to Visit Across America in Fall 2026 (hellenicnews.com) — Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in New Rochelle is hosting its Greek festival September 17–20, offering food, music, dancing, and church tours right in town. It's one of 25 Greek festivals nationwide this fall, but for local residents it's an easy way to sample traditional dishes, enjoy live entertainment, and experience Greek Orthodox culture without leaving the neighborhood.
   

5. Stop & Shop rolls out updated flu and COVID-19 vaccines across Westchester (news12.com) — Updated flu and COVID-19 shots are now available at all Stop & Shop pharmacies, including the New Rochelle location where County Executive Ken Jenkins got vaccinated. New Rochelle residents can get both vaccines at little or no cost with most insurance. Health officials urge getting shots early to reduce serious illness risks through fall and winter.
