The project, already approved by the New Rochelle Planning Board, aims to open in late 2026 and will offer scholarships, free clinics, and programs so local kids can access high-quality training regardless of family income.
   

3. United States Files Fair Housing Act Lawsuit Against Stagg Group For Failure To Construct Apartment Buildings With Features Accessible To Persons With Disabilities (justice.gov) — Residents of 26 Garden Street in New Rochelle are at the center of a new federal lawsuit claiming the building was not properly designed for people with physical disabilities, potentially violating the Fair Housing Act. Prosecutors want the developer to retrofit apartments and common areas, change future building practices, and compensate affected tenants. 4. Ex-shareholder sues ex-partner to clean up laundromat loans (westfaironline.com) — A lawsuit filed in Westchester Supreme Court centers on a former shareholder in a Pelham Road laundromat in New Rochelle who accuses his ex-partner of using his identity to secure a large SBA loan. The complaint claims unpaid debts and alleged identity theft tied to the New Rochelle business, with the plaintiff seeking hundreds of thousands of dollars and corrections to federal loan records.
   

5. Dog Tied To Tree In Mount Vernon: Investigation Difficult Without More Evidence, SPCA Says (dailyvoice.com) — An abandoned young dog found tied behind a billboard in Mount Vernon is now safe at the Humane Society of Westchester at New Rochelle, where staff have named her Journey. With limited evidence and no surveillance footage or microchip, authorities say investigating who left her will be difficult, but she's described as very sweet and is already available for adoption.
