Police Officer From New Rochelle Killed In Bronx Crash
Authorities said he was on his way home when the accident occurred.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — A New York City police officer who lived in New Rochelle was killed in the Bronx Wednesday morning in a multi-vehicle accident. Brian Kessler, 28, who joined the force in 2018, was on his way home from 1 Police Plaza in Manhattan when he collided with a vehicle from the NYC Parks Department.
Kessler was taken to Jacobi Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, News 12 reported.
He hit the parks department garbage truck at 870 Shore Road shortly after 8 a.m., the New York Post reported.

Kessler, who was engaged to be married, was assigned to Police Service Area 8 which serves the city Housing Authority buildings in the 43rd and 45th precincts in the Bronx.
Two parks employees in the truck suffered minor injuries and were also taken to Jacobi.
