School districts throughout the state reported their numbers to the NYSED. Although the data is self-reported by each school district and is unaudited, it does "not necessarily represent the whole state as there are districts that are not required to report the data," the NYSED says. In addition, the department says that some districts may not use certain titles.
The NYSED recommends seeking clarification from individual districts to fully understand the results.
