If you caught Eric Jennings' last presentation at the New Rochelle Public Library on the music of Stephen Sondheim, you know what I mean when I say this Sunday's presentation of Part 2 is a must see. Few presenters have the knack to pull off what Eric Jennings manages to accomplish every time.
His talks are so interesting I know I've learned something, and then there is the added treat of hearing him sing some of the songs! What a delightful way to spend an afternoon. The only problem is, it goes by so fast I can't believe it's time to leave, and I don't want to!
I'll share a little secret with you. One of the songs he'll sing this Sunday is We Had a Good Thing Going. Sondheim wrote the song for Merrily We Roll Along, a musical that ran for only 16 performances when it opened on Broadway in 1981. I can't wait to hear more about it! I was disappointed last year when I missed the musical's brief two-week revival at the New York City Center.
Mr. Jennings' talk on Sunday, November 24, 2013, at the New Rochelle public library will start at 1:30 pm. Come early and make sure you get a seat.
You've been officially BUZZED!
