The College of New Rochelle sophomore Tayler Fisher (Wilmington, DE/Conrad School of Science) has been selected as Second Team All-Independent Cross Country by the Association of Division III Independents, it was released Wednesday by the conference office.
Fisher adds this honor to her Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) All-Conference recognition she received earlier this month. This marks the second year Fisher has received this accolade from AD3I, moving up from Honorable Mention All-Independent honors last season.
The co-captain was the top runner for CNR in every race during the 2013 campaign, twice breaking the school record for a 5K. She set a new program best at the Bard Invitational on September 21, covering the 5000 meter course in 21:16. That mark was a 33 second improvement over than the previous record, set by Alyssa Beasley in 2011. She dropped that standard by four seconds at the HVIAC Championship meet which concluded the season, placing 10th overall with a time of 21:12.
