• Glen Cove Woman Pleads Guilty to Fatal July 2025 Drugged Driving Crash in North Hills (longisland.com) — A Glen Cove driver has pleaded guilty in the deadly July 2025 drugged-driving crash on the Long Island Expressway service road in North Hills that killed 58-year-old passenger Lisa Pelaez and gravely injured her husband, George. Prosecutors say the defendant was high on cocaine and Xanax and had driven recklessly for miles before the fiery collision; she now faces a potential 7 to 21-year prison sentence at her November hearing.
