31st Annual East End Maritime Festival Coming This Weekend

Ahoy matey! It's pirates and mermaids galore as the beloved annual Maritime Festival heads to Greenport this weekend with fun for all.

GREENPORT, NY — Ahoy mateys! After being derailed last year due to the pandemic, the 31st Annual East End Maritime Festival is set to unfold in Greenport this Saturday and Sunday.

Presented by the East End Seaport Museum & Marine Foundation, the event features pirates and mermaids aplenty set to delight the crowds that flock to the village for the beloved annual festivities.

Saturday, September 18, 2021

10 a.m.: Maritime Festival Opens
10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.: Captain Kidd’s Alley (crafts/Treasure Chest/Mitchell Park)
11:00 a.m.: Maritime Festival Parade (Broad and Main to Front and 3rd Streets)
12 p.m.: Merry Merfolk Contest judging (Mitchell Park)
12: p.m. to 2 p.m.: Children’s games on the Green (Mitchell Park)
1:30 p.m.: F/V Illusion, a working fishing boat (commercial dock)
2 p.m.: Kayak races, setup and registration (waterfront)
3 p.m.: Kayak races begin
4:30 p.m.: Two-hour Bug Light cruise and tour (register at East End Seaport Museum)
6 p.m.: Streets open to vehicular traffic

Sunday, September 19, 2021
10 a.m.: Maritime Festival opens
10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.: Captain Kidd’s Alley (crafts/treasure chest/Mitchell Park)
11:30 a.m.: F/V Illusion, working fishing boat (waterfront)
12 p.m. to 2 p.m.: Coast Guard search and rescue demonstration
1 p.m.: Storytime by Miss Vicky from Floyd Memorial Library (Mitchell Park)
1 p.m. to 2 p.m.: Snapper Fishing Contest (ages 8 and under, railroad/commercial dock)
2 p.m. to 3 p.m.: Snapper Fishing Contest (ages 9 to 16)
5 p.m. : Eastern Long Island Hospital “Dream Green” raffle drawing (Mitchell Park)
6 p.m.: Streets open to vehicular traffic
