Cutchogue Resident Elected To New Position

Cutchogue resident Robert Rogers has been elected to a new post.

Rogers has been elected president of the board of directors of Cornell Cooperative Extension of Suffolk County.

Rogers, a retired principal of Sunrise Drive Elementary School in Sayville, also served as past president of the NYS Council of Cooperative Extension Associations.

In the past, Rogers has long been affiliated with Suffolk County CCE, serving in positions including chairman of the 4-H program advisory committee, chairman of the personnel committee, and secretary of the board of directors.

Rogers and his wife Jacqueline, a past CCE board member, have three grown children.

Looking ahead, Rogers said he is pleased to be working with board vice-president Maureen Fiorello of Smithtown, treasurer Richard Rudden of Northport and secretary Herbert Strobel of Center Moriches. Outgoing President Charles F. Scheer Jr. of Mattituck remains a member of the CCE board of directors.

Two new faces will also bee seen on the board this year as Annette Maillard of Center Moriches and Patrick McAsey of Huntington Station take their new seats.
