Dock Diving Dogs Make Splash On North Fork: Photos, Video
A crowd of dogs and their humans cheered on the fun at the 3rd Annual North Fork Dog Dock Diving Weekend. The event continues Sunday.
PECONIC, NY — A crowd turned out Saturday to watch the splashing good fun at the 3rd Annual North Fork Dog Dock Diving Weekend, which took place at the Greenport Harbor Brewery in Peconic.
The event will continue Sunday at the brewery, located at 42155 Main Road in Peconic, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Guests enjoyed dog diving competitions, craft beer, food, vendors and live music.

There is a $10 per person, per day gate fee as the event is a pet-expo and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to America's VetDogs. Attendees will receive a free T-shirt per pre-paid entry; kids under 12 are free.
Well behaved and leashed dogs are welcome. Any dog can compete, too.

"It's going to be a great day of fun and is always a unique experience when you get to watch dogs flying through the air," said Rich Vandenburgh, co-founder of Greenport Harbor Brewing Co. "We love our pets, we enjoy being a part of the community and we are proud of the beer that is 100% brewed on the North Fork."

The event is hosted by: Harbor Pet, Life is Grruff, Dock Dogs, Blue Buffalo Dog Food, and Greenport Harbor Brewery.
The event is rain or shine; there are no refunds.
"DockDogs® is the largest and most diversified presenter of dock diving Dog Performance Sports in the world," organizers have said.
Featured dogs at the event in years' past included Tango, from Long Island, who averaged a 22' jump into the pool the first year and travels the country to compete at many DockDog events, a release said.
