Don't Miss: Southold's Community Service Forum
Community-service minded residents will have a chance to learn about new opportunities to volunteer on Saturday in Southold.

Community spirit is strong in Southold -- with scores of volunteers dedicating hours toward helping others in need.
And now, the Town will host its first Community Service Forum, in recognition of April being Community Service Month -- and to give volunteers even more opportunities to give back.
The event will take place on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the Peconic Lane Community Center.
Over 35 organizations will be present to showcase programs and available opportunities that exist through fire departments, libraries, churches, environmental groups, hospitals, human service providers, and educational, historical and cultural institutions.
Residents can also attend to learn about volunteer opportunities such as beach clean-ups, emergency shelter volunteers, non-court mediation and other chances to give back.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for the town to promote the meaningful volunteer and community service opportunities that exist in our community as well as the ability of residents, young and old, to make our town a better place to live and thrive,” Southold Town Supervisor Scott Russell said.
