Celebrate the Earth Day weekend on Shelter Island. On Saturday, April 21, head to the Mashomack Visitor Center and on Sunday, April 22, go to Sylvester Manor, for food, stories, music and a chance to get in the Guinness Book of World Records. A picnic will be held in the windmill field as part of The Nature Conservancy's global "Picnic for the Planet." They are trying to break the Guinness Book record for hosting the biggest worldwide picnic. Fresh egg salad sandwichs will be for sale or bring your own food.
