United States Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack has proclaimed August 7-13, 2011 as National Farmers Market Week. In celebration, Greenport Farmers Market is having a Chili Cook-off at 11am with Greenport Fire Department Co 4 featuring our local products. Vendors will also be having individual tastings that highlight their unique products from the North Fork.
Annual Chicken Chicken Bar-B-Q tickets will be on sale in the Fire Department Booth and they will be bringing the Fire Truck to the market again, so bring the kids down, they will be there all day.
Our featured wines this week will come from Macari Vineyards and Coffee Pot Cellars.
