Cornell Cooperative Extension has opened its 2011 Veterinary Medicine Career Exploration Program to Suffolk County high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors who are interested in becoming a veterinarian. This lecture series will explore various topics related to veterinary medicine including veterinary college admissions process, alternative veterinary practices, animal behavior, equine medicine, emergency critical care, large and small animal care. There is a $75 registration fee. Parents may attend for no additional charge.Graduates of this program may be eligible for the Long Island Veterinary Medical Association (LIVMA) scholarship.This program will take place at the Yaphank Building on Yaphank Avenue in Yaphank.
