Farm Worker Hospitalized After Crashing Into Train While Driving Tractor
The incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon.

A farm worker was hospitalized after hitting a westbound train while driving a tractor over a crossing in Laurel on Tuesday afternoon, according to SoutholdLocal.
The train, which only contained crew members, hit the tractor driving northbound on a farm road at about 2:30 p.m. when it reached the private crossing just west of Laurel Lane and south of Main Road, according to SoutholdLocal. The front of the tractor was completely torn off in the crash.
The farm worker was taken via helicopter to Stony Brook University Hospital, his condition is unknown but he was conscious at the scene, according to SoutholdLocal.

Riverhead Town Police along with the Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance Corps and the Jamesport Fire Department all responded.
