Former Greenport School Superintendent Charged With Felony DWI: Police
The arrest took place Friday night, police say.

GREENPORT, NY — A former superintendent of the Greenport School District was charged with driving while intoxicated Friday night, police said.
According to Southold Town Police, Charles E. Kozora, 69, now of Placida, Fla., was arrested at 8:24 p.m. at the intersection of First and Front Streets in Greenport and charged with aggravated DWI, a felony.
Kozora was stopped for failing to signal a right turn, found to be intoxicated and arrested, police said.

A computer check revealed that Kozora has a prior conviction for DWI, police said.
Kozora was arrested and transported to Southold Town Police headquarters and processed; he was processed and held for arraignment, police said.

Kozora's vehicle was impounded due to the prior DWI conviction, police said.
Kozora retired from the Greenport School District in 2009.
