Former North Fork Firefighter Makes it to Daytona 500 Victory Lane
The former Cutchogue resident was a part of NASCAR driver Joey Logano's winning team on Sunday.

Former North Fork resident Danny Lynch recently went from being a member of a local fire department to a member of the winning racing team at the Daytona 500 in Florida on Sunday.
The officers and members of the Cutchogue Fire Department extended their congratulations to the former firefighter, who worked as a part of NASCAR driver Joey Logano’s winning team at the race.
Lynch worked at the department for two years before moving down south the Charlotte, North Carolina area in the mid-2000s to pursue a career in NASCAR.

According to the Cutchogue Fire Department, Lynch was an active member for several years after moving up through the department’s junior firefighter program.
He also participated on the Panthers Drill team for several seasons before moving.
His father Kevin Lynch is also a longtime member of the department and currently serves as a fire company trustee.
“I had gotten all my firefighting certifications in New York and was happy in my job but felt there was something still missing,” Lynch said in an article in Lake Currents magazine in 2012. ”My passion, my life included both building cars with my Dad and firefighting too, and I knew I’d never be happy unless I tried to build a life that let me do both of those things.”
