Lamaina said with the seasonal market in Greenport he is trying to be as creative as possible — At one time, the business only offered cupcakes, it now has comfort foods in the winter, such as meatloaf and fried chicken and now, a breakfast and lunch menu along with fondue.

"Greenport is not an easy place to maintain a business," he said. "There are a lot of new homeowners that are seasonal. The locals are getting priced out of the market."

Lamania considers him lucky to be able to have a business and live in the village where he grew up.  After graduating , Lamania went on to college in South Carolina, where he worked in a bakery.

After graduating college, he said he moved to the city where he ran into a thriving cupcake business and thought it would be a perfect niche for Greenport.

The rest, he said is history.
