Man Crashes Car Into Tree After Trying to Avoid Deer
The driver and his passenger were both hospitalized for minor injuries, police say.

Two people were hospitalized after an accident in Cutchogue on Saturday morning, according to Southold Town Police.
While going eastbound on Route 48 at 2:50 a.m., Luis Polo, 43, of Glen Cove, ran off the roadway in order to avoid a deer that had run in front of his car, police said.
Polo lost control of his car, hit a utility pole and a tree by Cox Lane, according to police.

Polo and his passenger, Emmanul Dextra, 34, also of Glen Cove, were transported to Eastern Long Island Hospital by Cutchogue Fire and Rescue for minor injuries sustained in the crash, police said.
