Man Dies In Crash After Falling From Trunk; Police Investigating
He sustained significant head trauma after falling from the trunk of the vehicle, police say.
FISHERS ISLAND, NY — A man died in a Fishers Island crash after he fell from the trunk of a vehicle, police said.
The New York State Police Department's bureau of criminal investigation is investigating the crash, which took place on Aug. 31 at 3:11 a.m. on Fishers Island, police said.
Troopers responded to East End Drive and found Kevin Brown, 27, of Baltic, CT who had sustained significant head trauma after falling from the trunk of a 2011 Hyundai Genesis, police said. He was transported to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital in New London, CT where he succumbed to his injuries, police said.

The driver and the vehicle involved were located on Fishers Island and an active investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash are ongoing; at the present time, no criminal charges have been filed, police said.
