🌱 North Fork Daily: Hospital Job Fairs + Run For Andrew McMorris
The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today on the North Fork.

Welcome back, North Fork friends and neighbors! It's finally Saturday, time to get out and enjoy some peaceful respite with family and friends.
In the news today, if you're looking for work, Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital and Stony Brook Southampton Hospital are hosting both in-person and virtual job fairs soon.
Also, March 30 would have marked Andrew McMorris' 16th birthday, a birthday he never lived to see after he was killed by a drunk driver while out on a hike with his Boy Scout troop when he was just 12 years old. An event, "Andrew's Top Gun Run," will be held to celebrate his birthday and keep his legacy flourishing. His story needs to be told, his parents believe, so that no other family ever has to share their agonizing grief.
I'm still collecting your thoughts on whether or not you'd like to see the parklets return in Greenport this year; the story will be posted this weekend. If you'd like to weigh in, please email me at Lisa.Finn@patch.com.
Until next time. . .
First, today's weather:

- Andrews Top Gun Run Honors Boy Scout Killed By Drunk Driver: March 30 would have marked Andrew McMorris' 16th birthday. If life were different, his family would have spent the day celebrating, likely on a trip, as their beloved boy loved travel — or just spending time with family and friends, with lots of music and laughter. Undoubtedly, the day would have had some mention of aviation: Andrew wanted to become a pilot, dreamed of soaring high in the blue sky. But Andrew will never celebrate his 16th birthday: He died when he was 12 years old, after he was struck by a drunk driver who plowed into his Boy Scout troop while they were out on a hike in Manorville in 2018.(Patch)
