One of the sure signs the summer season has sprung in Greenport is the opening of the movie theater on Front Street.
This year, the Greenport Theater opens for the season on May 24.
Featured films for the first night will include "Hangover 3", "Fast and Furious 6," "Epic", and "Star Trek Into Darkness."
The theater first opened in 1939 as a single screen venue and was renovated into a four screen theater in recent years, with the capacity to seat 911 people. The experience is enhanced by the Art Deco feel and great film posters.
