Police: Greenport Resident Finds Homeless Man Asleep in Her Bed
A homeless man took a beer and fell asleep at a Greenport residence, police said.

A Greenport resident returned from the dentist to her Main Street home and found a homeless man had taken a beer from her refrigerator and fell asleep in her bed on Tuesday afternoon, according to Southold Town Police said.
Police responded and found Germain Mendoza, 44, sleeping in the bed at about 1 p.m.

Mendoza was arrested on charges of petty larceny and criminal trespass, according to police.
He was processed and lodged in a cell awaiting arraignment.
