Police: Mattituck Man Arrested After Heroin Found in Car

The arrest was made on Friday night.

A Mattituck man was arrested on drug charges after he was pulled over for speeding in Mattituck on Friday night, according to Southold Town Police.

Matthew Dellaquila, 24, was seen traveling at a high speed and failing to maintain his lane of travel on New Suffolk Avenue and Marratooka Lane, police said.

Upon consented search of his vehicle, police found six waxed elongated baggies containing heroin and a suboxone pill that was not in a prescription bottle, according to police.

Dellaquila was arrested for seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, according to police.

He was transported to headquarters, processed and held for arraignment.
