  1. The winter storm on Friday brought several inches of snow across the region, causing many local school districts to close for the day. The closures came after the National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning that was in effect until noon on Friday. (Suffolk Times)
  2. Despite the winter weather that hit North Fork yesterday, cold temperatures don't have to slow you down. Taralynn Reynolds, the outreach director at Group for the East End, has said she has seen an uptick of visitors to the area's nature trails as the community grasps with the Omicron variant and looks for ways to get out of the house.
