SOUTHOLD, NY — Members of the Southold American Legion Auxiliary Griswold Terry Glover Post 803 marked Veterans Day by giving back to an organization that helps provide vital services to veterans in need.

The Auxiliary presented a check for $1,000 to the Long Island Cares, Inc. in support of the organization's Veterans Project.

"We chose the Long Island Cares Veterans Project because the services this program provides to veterans, from emergency food to career development and care coordination, embody the mission of the American Legion Auxiliary, which is, 'to honor the sacrifice of those who serve by enhancing the lives of veterans, military and their families,'" said Joan Cear of the Auxiliary.
