Southold Man Drove Drunk in Mattituck Early Monday: Police

He was arrested after being stopped for crossing over the white line onto the shoulder, police said.

MATTITUCK, NY — A Southold man was caught driving drunk in Mattituck early Monday, police said.

According to Southold Town Police, John Grauer, 35, was arrested at 12:32 a.m. on Route 25 and charged with driving while intoxicated and moving from lane unsafely.

Grauer was stopped for crossing over the solid white line onto the shoulder of the road while traveling east, police said.

Grauer was found to be intoxicated, arrested and transported to Southold Town Police headquarters, where he was processed and held pending arraignment in Southold Town Justice Court in the morning, police said.
