The Chloe Belle Foundation Raises $3K In Fight Against Cancer

The proceeds were split between a NJ hospital's oncology fund and the foundation's goal of brightening the days of young adults with cancer.

NORTHPORT, NY — The Chloe Belle Foundation raised nearly $3,000 during its spring/summer fundraiser, which began in May, it announced on Instagram.

Of the proceeds, $1,550 went to the Southern Ocean Medical Center’s Oncology Fund. SOMC is a hospital in Manahawkin, New Jersey. The rest of the funds have or will be used to further the foundation's mission: helping and bringing joy to people with cancer, with a focus on young adults. The foundation has sent care packages to people currently undergoing cancer treatment.

The foundation launched its Eighties Beach House Collection to raise money for its mission. The collection, which features a sweatshirt, jacket, friendship bracelets, sunglasses and a beach bag, will continue to sell.

The Chloe Belle Foundation was created in honor of Chloe Lindberg, a Northport resident who was only 26 when she died of acute myeloid leukemia in January 2021. She fought the cancer for 13 months after she was diagnosed at age 25.

"Thank you so much to everyone who donated directly on our page or purchased an item from our Eighties Beach House Collection," Remi Lindberg, president of the foundation and Chloe's sister, wrote. "You have made a difference to someone battling cancer, aided in cancer research through Southern Ocean Medical Center and honored Chloe! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Love you all so much!"

Chloe and her family loved Long Beach Island, New Jersey, so the foundation wanted to help a hospital in the area.

Since the Cancer Care Center at SOMC opened in 2016, roughly 300 patients a month receive more than 2,000 infusions monthly at SOMC. In addition, SOMC offers radiation therapy using TrueBeam linear accelerator, one of the fastest, most precise and low-dose radiation therapies available. Since its introduction in 2017, more than 750 patients receive TrueBeam radiation each month, according to the hospital.

"It was important to Chloe to be close to home during her cancer treatments and it is special to us that SOMC Cancer Center is available to the residents of LBI and Manahawkin," the foundation wrote.

Friends and family previously raised money to build a memorial bench in Harvey Cedars, on the Lindberg's family block.

The Chloe Belle Foundation, since its inception, has held a variety of fundraisers, toy drives, and events, all with the goal of bringing joy to children and young adults fighting cancer.
