ICYMI: Northport HS Senior Chosen For Women In Technology Program

NORTHPORT, NY — Soraya Basrai, a senior at Northport High School, was selected for Women in Technology, a program run by BAE Systems Electronic Systems sector, the school district announced. Soraya began the program this fall and is set to graduate in November.

Math teacher Kristen Rozell had shared the opportunity with her students, and Soraya applied in hopes of participating in external engineering experiences beyond what the high school offered. After completing the online application, she was notified of her selection and picked up her engineering kit to participate in the program, which is taking place virtually this year.
