Massive Northport Soccer Tournament Returns Despite Serious Field Damage

The Northport Cow Harbor United Columbus Weekend Soccer Tournament kicks off Saturday and Sunday.

he largest soccer tournament in the Northeast goes on thanks to support from the local soccer community despite the Northport fields getting slammed with more than $10,000 in damages last month.

The four teens who allegedly did the crime were arrested less than two weeks before the 27th Northport Cow Harbor United Columbus Weekend Soccer Tournament begins.

The entire weekend will be jam-packed with activities, including appearances from professional soccer players from the Red Bulls Soccer Team, the Cosmos Soccer Team and New York City Football Club at Northport High School.

The tournament is helping raise money to benefit the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund through various fundraising efforts:

  • Selling pink socks
  • A $25 Northport Club donation for every Northport team that plays in the tournament
  • Raffle ticket sales

“Seeing the children paying it forward and getting involved is truly a humbling experience. Northport Cow Harbor Soccer Club raised over $33,000 last year from this tournament,” Billy Baldwin, actor and President of CMBBCRF, said in a press release. “I’m sure it will be larger this year with the growth of this tournament.”

There will also be interviews, signing autographs, taking photos, skills challenges, giveaways, raffle items and sock sales.

Here’s the Schedule of Events:

Saturday

9 a.m. - 6 p.m.: NY RED BULLS Soccer Team

  • At Northport High School 154 Laurel Hill Road, Northport
  • Red Bull trainers will be on hand engaging players and guests with Soccer Tennis, 3 v 3’s, and Skills Challenge activities.
  • There will be a DJ and Photo Booth. Red Bulls Street Team will be on-site to “wow” you and engage you with their skills.

9 a.m. - 6 p.m.: Carol M. Baldwin Tent

  • Representative will be on site to sell pink merchandise, conduct interviews and sell raffle tickets for items donated by the 3 soccer teams to raise money for CMBBRF.

9 a.m. - 6 p.m.: Cosmos Soccer Team Representatives and Street Team

  • At Northport Soccer Park (site of damaged fields), 337 Eatons Neck Road (down by the LILCO stacks) and East Northport Middle School, 1063 5th Ave, E Npt and Stimson Middle School, 401 Oakwood Rd, Hunt. Sta
  • New York Cosmos street team players on hand for interviews, photos with attendees, autographs and fundraising for CMBBCF.

9 a.m. - 6 p.m.: NYCFC Soccer Representatives

  • At East Northport Middle School, 1063 5th Ave, E Npt 11731
  • Visit their tent for giveaways and to speak to a rep.

Sunday

9 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.: NY RED BULLS Soccer Team

  • At Northport High School 154 Laurel Hill Road
