Details of good work
- “My mom is a math teacher at Northport High School, loving mother, and awesome friend. She dedicates 100% of her time both in and out of the classroom to making our community a better place. She recognizes the substance abuse problem among children and young adults today. As a person whose job it is to shape the hearts and minds of our communities youth, she is doing everything possible put a spotlight on this problem and break the stigma associated with it. She is part of “The Five Moms” campaign against over-the-counter drug abuse and has made multiple trips to Washington DC to meet with government officials in an effort to bring this problem to the public eye. As long as there continues to be a drug problem in our community and among today’s youth, she will continue to fight.”
Why do you feel this person is an Everyday Hero?
