• Bart And Lisa, Kittens Found Huddled On Roadside, Seek Home: Northport Kitties Of The Week (patch.com) — Northport animal lovers are being introduced to Bart and Lisa, two four-month-old kittens rescued from a Greenlawn roadside and now cared for by Northport Cat Rescue Association. The bonded pair, described as affectionate, playful and great with other cats, are currently at Pet Supplies Plus in East Northport and ready for adoption together by a local family. Interested residents can apply through Northport Cat Rescue Association's website or contact the group directly. 
• High school roundup: Boys and girls soccer and boys and girls volleyball (newsday.com) — Northport High School's boys soccer team earned a 2-2 draw against Bellport in their Suffolk III opener, with Ryan Cogan netting a late tying goal off a Ty Hamada cross. The roundup also highlights other Long Island boys and girls soccer and volleyball results, giving Northport fans context on how neighboring schools are starting their fall seasons.
