Police Log: Dryer Catches Fire, Car Damages Property
Excerpts from the Northport Police Department log.

Tuesday, May 26
At 6:04 p.m., police reported property damage in which a car drove over a lawn and damaged shrubs on Waterside Avenue.
At 8:07 p.m., police arrested a 22-year-old Greenlawn man and charged him with seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, appearance in public under the influence of drugs and unlawful possession of marijuana on Fort Salonga Road.

Wednesday, May 27
At 9:01 p.m., police reported that a dryer was on fire on Jefferson Avenue. The Northport Fire Department determined that the cause of the fire was excess lint.

At 8:29 p.m., police arrested a 21-year-old Selden man and charged him with seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and an inspired inspection on Fort Salonga Road. Police also arrested a 22-year-old Northport man and charged him with seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Thursday, May 28
At 9:18 p.m., police received a report that there were vehicles running stop signs at the intersection of Sea Cove Road and Norwood Avenue. Officers did not observe any violations.
