Police Log: Female Smoked Marijuana Prior to Losing Consciousness

Excerpts from the Northport Police Department log.

Here are some of the recent arrests and complaints issued in Northport. None of the defendants has been convicted of a crime, but were arrested for the charges listed below.

Monday, March 23

At 12:24 p.m., police reported an odor of burning wires at a home on Reservoir Avenue. Northport Fire Department chief checked the house and was unable to detect any issues. The fire department advised the residents to check that all fire detectors were working properly.

Wednesday, March 25

At 7:40 a.m., police reported a male causing a disturbance at the Northport Highway Department on Woodside Avenue. The man was advised that he was not allowed in the building and a trespass affidavit was prepared and signed against him.

At 9:10 p.m., police provided assistance to a person suffering from a catheter issue on Main Street. Northport Rescue transported the person to Huntington Hospital.

Thursday, March 26

At 3:56 p.m., police reported larceny from a motor vehicle on Maple Avenue.

At 4:44 p.m., police responded to a report of an unconscious adult female on Whispering Fields Drive. When Northport Rescue responded to the scene, the female was conscious, breathing and alert. Police reported the female smoked marijuana prior to the incident. NFD Rescue transported her to Huntington Hospital.

Friday, March 27

At 10:55 a.m., police reported found property on Jericho Turnpike. A civilian found a brown wallet that contained personal papers and credit cards. Police placed the wallet in the temporary bin while the owner was contacted.

Saturday, March 28

At 8:30 p.m., police arrested a 33-year-old man on Fort Salonga Road and charged him with criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation and harassment in the second degree. The man was arrested following reports of a domestic incident.
