Police Log: Pokémon Go Causes Argument in Village Park

Monday, July 25

At 2:23 p.m., police received a report of a man yelling on Laurel Avenue. Officers arrived to the scene and spoke to the man who said he was homeless and asked for a ride to the Northport Train Station.

Wednesday, July 27

At 3:17 p.m., police reported grand larceny in which someone stole a boat cover from Britannia Yachting Center.

At 9:42 p.m., police responded to an Ocean Avenue location to assist a man who hurt his hand from a knife. Northport Rescue responded to the home and the man refused to be taken to the hospital.

At 10:21 p.m., police responded to Village Park for a report of a dispute caused by the game Pokémon Go. A man told police he was angry because he was unable to capture a specific Pokémon, causing him to throw his phone in frustration. Another person became upset because he thought the man threw his phone at him. Both men agreed to leave the area for the night after the issue was resolved.

Friday, July 29

At 8:03 p.m., a 50-year-old Northport man was arrested on Highland Avenue for criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation.
