Police Log: Upside Down American Flag Accidentally Mounted In Northport
Excerpts from the Northport Police Department log.

Monday, March 20
At 8:30 a.m., police responded to a suspicious event at Chase Bank on Main Street in which a man dressed in all black entered the bank. Police arrived to the scene and spoke to the man and determined there was no issue. Police searched the interior of the bank and all appeared in order.
At 1:13 p.m., police responded to Northport Family Medicine on Main Street for the report of a man who overdosed on alcohol. Northport Rescue responded to the scene and transported to man to St. Catherine’s Hospital.

At 5:22 p.m., police were informed that a health care aide for a woman with dementia upgraded the Cablevision package at the woman’s Beach Avenue home. The aide was fired and the daughter of the woman later received alarming text messages from her. The incident was reported for informational purposes only.

At 4:07 p.m., police received a report that an American flag was mounted upside down on a flagpole outside Tim’s Shipwreck Diner on Main Street. An employee told police it was an accident and will address the issue tomorrow.
Thursday, March 23
At 1:22 p.m., police received a report for an abandoned 911 call from Laurel Avenue School. Officers spoke with an employee who said the call came from the Ocean Avenue reception desk. The call was determined to be accidental.
