10-year Prison Sentence for Child Predator
The Haverstraw man abused a young boy repeatedly over several years, officials said.

Rockland County District Attorney Thomas P. Zugibe today announced that Wilfredo Franco, 54, of Haverstraw, New York was sentenced before County Court Judge Rolf M. Thorsen to 10 years in state prison with 10 years post release supervision for sexually abusing a young boy on numerous occasions over several years, beginning in 2006.
“The defendant has admitted to preying on a young child for his own degenerate pleasure,” Zugibe said. “The sexual nightmare that he inflicted on his victim destroyed his childhood innocence and scarred him emotionally for life. As such, the sentence imposed is more than warranted.”
Franco pled guilty on July 7 to Course of Sexual Conduct Against a Child in the First Degree, a class “B” Felony, and admitted to the repeated sexual abuse of the child.
