In what could only be described as a “gorgeous location,” contributing artists Paul Shein, Bob Shoemaker, Clifford Selover and Barbara Dexter hosted a premier art exhibit in the meeting room of the Nyack Boat Club on Saturday.
With the Hudson River as a background, the exhibit included a vibrant display of paintings, sculpture, furniture, and photographs created by Nyack Boat Club members.
Clifford Selovar, co-chairperson of the Nyack Boat Club race committee, said that the goal of the show was to “benefit member artists and to grow the show into an annual event.”

Standing in front of two rural Vermont landscapes, member Barbara Dexter indicated, “We wish to share more than our sailing interests and skills.” Nancy Bolan, a lifetime member of the club remarked that the art show was a “great idea,” and that she would certainly support similar programs in the future.
For viewers, there was that rare opportunity to experience artistic talent followed by a walk along the Hudson, sail on a perfect day or to get to know new and longstanding members in a new environment.
Established in 1909, the Nyack Boat Club offers its 300 members recreational sailing on the majestic Hudson River as well as the opportunity to race and enjoy social events.
