Brought he an outstanding series held in celebration
A tradition to endure and brought forward this day
Alive and resounding music brought our very way
One could feel the pleasure and the delight he knew
A pause a deep breath of satisfaction made known to you
A gentle smile and applause he did ever share
For blessed he felt by music and its loving care
In gratitude be he held in day present and memory sublime

The Carnegie Room concert series has a long history: It was established in 1982 by pianist William Hargrove as the St. Paul's Festival of the Arts, with concerts held at St. Paul's Church in Nyack. When Yashar Yaslowitz joined as co-director in 2007, it was renamed the South Nyack Recital Series, with a focus on solo piano performances. Shortly afterward, when Hargrove retired, Yaslowitz became executive director.
