Back to School with 'Brutal Cold'

Chilling temperatures are coming to Nyack and Piermont, possibly with flurries.

Hello and goodbye, mild weather.

Temperatures will fall Jan. 5, and the low overnight will drop to 16 degrees. But that’s nothing compared to Wednesday, when the National Weather Service predicts a low of 5 for Nyack. Thursday, the high could be just 16 degrees.

“Those headed out early in the morning to work or to school should dress in layers to stay protected from the harsh cold,” Accuweather said. Upstate, highs may be in the single digits with night time lows well below zero,

Highs will be in the 20s on multiple days from Boston to New York City and Philadelphia.

Tuesday through Thursday, some snow is possible, too.
